To get to this island you must start your journey at the port of Chiquila, where you can board a shared or individual boat to cross the Yalahau lagoon. If you go by car, the island is located 1 hour and 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen, 2 hours from Cancun, 2 hours and a half from Tulum and 5 hours and 30 minutes from Chetumal.



The island's deep sea is home to dolphins, manta rays, octopuses, lobsters, turtles and countless varieties of fish.

The whale shark watching season is from May 15 to September 15 and is one of the most interesting activities to do. This island serves as a sanctuary for the whale shark, one of the most impressive and mysterious marine animals on the planet.

On the island you will find fresh products that come from the sea, such as lobster. One of the specialties of this island is the lobster pizza that you can find in most restaurants.
